This is Seville's most famous park and probably one of the best known parks in Spain. It was created when the Infanta María Luisa decided to donate part of her gardens from the San Telmo Palace to the people of Seville. The French landscape designer, Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier, designed a romantic garden in keeping with its surroundings and the climate, adding elements such as the frog fountain, the garden of the lions and the water-lilly pool. The famous Plaza de América and Plaza de España also form part of the park, both constructed for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929.
