SURROUNDINGS

"Barcelona, the cosmopolitan city par excellence, is also known as the city of design. It is the Capital of Catalonia, with over 2000 years of history, and has the second largest population in Spain (1,600,000 inhabitants).

Given the excellent location of the AYRE HOTEL GRAN VÍA, we suggest a walk on the Montjuic mountain, the most important park in Barcelona.
It was urbanised for the first time for the International Exhibition in 1929. In 1992 it was the very centre of the Olympic Games.

Montjuic provides an enormous variety of cultural and sports facilities, Barcelona Fair pavilion, as well as wonderful gardens. The most emblematic sight of Montjuic is the night view of the Plaza España with the Avenida Reina Cristina, the Magical fountain and the National Park, all lit up.

We also recommend a visit to the Caixa Forum (1 minute from the Hotel), the Pueblo Español and the Palau Sant Jordi."
