In the highest part of town we find "The mountain of Montjuic, where sports facilities were remodeled to conform to modernity that were required to hold the 1992 Olympics. The large area of the mountain, which has been redeveloped stadium between the line and the cemetery wall, are called Olympic Ring.  This mountain area has undergone a radical change: The new stadium has been done respecting the facade and the Picornell swimming pools, built in 1969 which have been modernized. Have been erected two new buildings: the Palacio de Deportes de Sant Jordi and the National Institute of Physical Education of Catalonia. Integrated in this area include the new baseball field and a park area and monoliths commemorating the Olympic Games, designed by the engineer Santiago Calatrava.
