Seville is situated to the south-east of the Peninsula on the banks of the Guadalquivir, a navigable river which makes the city a river port. The old centre of the city is the largest in Spain and one of the three largest in Europe. Its historical and cultural heritage makes Seville one of the most popular places to visit in Spain.

There are also two festivals of international prestige which take place during the spring: Holy Week and the Feria de Abril (April festival)
